The Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) traces its roots from Cambridge University in England  where a group of students came together for a united evangelical witness in 1877. This movement spread throughout Canada, USA and eventually reached the Philippines in 1953.

Past.IVCF-Philippines began when Gwen Wong, a staff member of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), came to pioneer the student ministry in the country. 

Starting with about 15 Filipino college students, she helped form the Timothy Club that gathered daily for early morning prayer, weekly for Bible studies and extended person-to-person witnessing.  The group grew in number and created the need for more Bible studies, trainings and workshops in various colleges and universities throughout Manila, punctuating those activities with the first IVCF missions conference.

Present.Today, 49 years after its  humble beginnings the IVCF - Philippines now reaches out  to over 150 schools and campuses nationwide thereby reaching thousands of students for Christ in almost half a century of  active ministry among students and graduates. The work has now expanded to eight (8) key regions in the country and the thrust  towards regionalization was strengthened with the establishments of the Regional Advisory Councils (RACs). Presently,  the movement is now backed up by 39 fulltime staff, associate staff and workers and supported by 194 active Grad Team (GT) members / volunteers nationwide.

Future.The IVCF - Philippines looks forward to the future firm in its resolve to affirm its vision and mission to reach out,  equip and disciple today's servant-leaders for Christ.
