GOLD
During the last 48th IVCF Day Celebration, the IVCF Board of Trustees recently announced the unanimous approval by the IVCF Board of the establishment of a new Fund Generation Program for IVCF-Philippines to be called as IVCF GOLD Fund. In anticipation of the forthcoming 50th (Golden) anniversary of the IVCF ministry in the Philippines the movement will embark in an intensive campaign for Fund Generation Buildup. The fund campaign was formally announced by Mr. Dionnie Ang, Chairman of the IVCF Board, to more than 140 IVCF students, graduates and friends during the IVCF Day celebration in Manila last November 24, 2001 at Max's Restaurant, Quezon City. Likewise, the same information about the fund was announced to various regional centers during similar IV Day celebrations. The fund campaign is only one of the major activities undertaken by IVCF for its Golden Anniversary celebration. The IGF is part of the movement's intensive resource mobilization efforts. Raising PhP 5 Million was set as the fund's minimum investment target till the year 2003. Primarily the fund is intended to finance the general operations, strengthen linkages and ministry development initiatives of IVCF Philippines. The IGF is further designed to eventually replace the current IVCF Stabilization Fund.
The Carribean-based couple, Joseph and Darlene Anderson were the first persons to commit in supporting the IVCF GOLD Fund. Recently home from Cayman Islands for a brief vacation, Darlene, a former IVCF Staffworker herself for five years and her businessman-husband Joseph, expressed their willingness to serve as the first Ministry Investors to the fund. The couple were also among those who helped initiate the Own-an-IV-Home Campaign for the Iloilo IVCF MInistry. The Anderson couple who plans to attend next year's Balikatan Conference further expressed support to the latter fund campaign and commits to make an active campaign for this project among Iloilo graduates based in the United States.
The IVCF-Iloilo is proud of its own heritage - having been "anchored" by many distinguished IVCFers from its earliest days, the likes of Bel Magalit, Willie Girao, Glenn and Debbie Jainga, Christy Jutare, Bing Roncesvalles and many more. IVCF-Iloilo has also contributed from among its ranks many staffworkers to the IVCF ministry, among them Feby Pendon, Darlene Elequin (now Anderson), Ng Christy J. , Jay Ugalingan to the late Dahlia Contreras-Catedral. Inspired by this heritage, IVCF-Iloilo recently met last February 14, 2001 and in between the sharing of news and experiences were moved to conceive a vision and a dream - to eventually own and acquire an IVCF Home to be the center of ministry in this part of the country. For many years the local chapter here just rent up to have its IV Home. There were even years when there was no IV Home at all for the students and graduates to gather and meet. Summing up, instead of continually paying for the IV Home rentals the grads were inspired to take a step of faith to search out a lot and building to serve as IV Home in Iloilo and owned permanently by this ministry. Hence, what is needed is a determined focus and a bold faith to embark on this undertaking. Thus, in a follow-up meeting last February 16 hosted by Darlene and Joseph Anderson, a total of 16 graduates and students plus six (6) IVCF kids, namely Luke Trasporto, Rian, Keia Joy and Caroline (Harder kids), JT and Ronie Jay (Pagunsan kids) gathered for this significant event : to articulate, affirm and launch a vision meant to acquire its own IV Home as a permanent base of the ministry in Iloilo. A seed fund was contributed by graduates (and kids too shared their own kiddie bank savings) for this project. It was a gathering meant to capture the future of this ministry in Iloilo and neighboring provinces. JP Trasporto gave a brief message. A sharing of testimonies followed among students and grads which blessed everyone present. A declaration of their commitment and duly signed by these 16 grads and students reads in part, "...Through generations, we are living testaments of God's love - His grace and care - channeled through the ministry of IV Homes. In thankfulness, we pass on to posterity the great blessings of that home. We pledge our support, in prayers and gifts, to the dream of owning an IV Home in Iloilo for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." Not to be outdone, the six IV Kids present also pledged and signed up their support in a document which reads in part, " We, too, are living testaments of God's love because of His faithfulness to our families. Our parents tell us of wonderful things that God is doing in these house they call "IV Homes". They say that they have a dream of owning an IV Home so that children like us could also enjoy those wonderful things when we grow up. So, we, too, give our support, in prayer and gifts, to the dream of owning an IV Home in Iloilo for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ." Henceforth, the group agreed to sustain the dream in fervent prayer. Thereafter, pledges were made and the initial fund gathered tallied to PhP 14,110.00. To God be the Glory! Please contact us
